    Hello,

On a WooCommerce eshop we just launched, since yesterday, we have been experiencing the following issue:

    When we navigate to:

WP dashboard > Yoast SEO > settings (at this point everything looks fine) > Any tab in Content types or Categories and tags

we get an error message within that tab that says “t is undefined” and all the settings within those tabs diseappear.

After some troubleshooting by us and our hosting provider, we found that the error came from some language files (Greek language). So, we did the following workaround:

    1. In the file manager of our hosting provider we went to wp-content > languages > plugins.
    2. We temporarily removed all the .json files named: wordpress-seo-el-*******.json
    3. At this point the error disappeared and we were able to change the settings as needed.
    4. Then we returned the language files back to their original folder.

With the .json files back in place, the error returns and once again we can’t work with the settings, but it seems like whatever settings we saved during the workaround still remain intact, even if we can’t see them in the dashboard.

So, we’re not in a hurry for a fix, but it would be nice if it got resolved in a future update. Also, any better current solutions are welcome too.

(Is this something I should report as a bug on github?)

    Thanks!

    Hello @eleanawebdev

I’m sorry about the error you encountered while using the Yoast SEO. We had a similar bug that was fixed in Yoast SEO v20.1. Can you confirm the version of Yoast SEO, WooCommerce and WordPress you are running?

    Hello @maybellyne

    Thank you for your reply.

We are using the latest versions of everything:

    Yoast SEO 20.1
    WooCommerce 7.4.0
    WordPress 6.1.1

I should also mention we first tried deactivating every other plugin and switching to a basic theme, but the problem remained. So, it doesn’t look like a conflict.

Maybe it’s specific to the Greek language?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hey @eleanawebdev,

We were able to find an incorrect translation for Greek where the order of placeholders was misused. We’ll ping translators to update it and after this is approved and a translation update is installed on your site after, it should work.
