    Hi
I’m using the language file to change the text in the plugin to my particular use (campsite).

I’ve created a translation file (the .mo and .po files) and placed it in the “languages” sub-folder.
    I then edited define(‘WPLANG’, ”); in my wp-config.php
My worry is when a new release of the plugin is made, this will get overwritten.

Apart from the steps above is anything else needed to active the changes?

To the best of my knowledge new releases shouldn’t override your .po/.mo files, but to be on the safe side keep local copies.

If you have named the files properly (ex. hostel-de_DE.po) you don’t need to do anything else. If it doesn’t work, reactivate the plugin.

Yes got them working thanks – hadn’t initially realised I needed the hostel- part, but it’s all good.

Perhaps the language files can go outside the plugin folder – I’ll look into this some more.
