• Trying to figure out why every few days most of the images on the landing page on my site using Hitchcock them don’t load on the mobile version. I noticed there is a link at the bottom to “load full site” but when I click that nothing changes. The site will load perfectly on the desktop version. I checked with my hosting company and they say everything looks fine. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S8 Android phone. I tried it in Chrome and the Samsung browser. Same phenomena. All other pages load ok. Anyone have any idea what would cause this? I ran the site through one of those mobile test sites and things look OK. If I load the desktop site in settings, it displays fine, then when I uncheck the option for loading desktop, briefly the mobile version will load and then reverts back to the stipped down version. Can’t figure this out.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I’m having a similar problem with a new post. I am using Firefox Quantum 64.0.2 on a PC and WordPress 5.0.3. I just ran several updates before adding my post and now the thumbnail is not showing at all. I even re-created the post, with no initial Featured Image and with an initial Featured Image, and neither show a thumbnail image. The only way a user can know that the post is there is by mousing over an empty space.

The page I’m working on is https://houdini.dog

    Hi @jerryereed and @snowbear24,

I notice you’re both running the Jetpack module for lazyloading images. Try deactivating that module in Jetpack, and see if that resolves the issue.

I tried to deactivate that module and got this message:
“Error updating settings. lazy-images: The requested Jetpack module could not be deactivated. (Status 400)”

Finally got it to deactivate. Watching the site now. One of the things that seems to have an impact: I turned off the jetpack mobile theme and then turned it back on. That seemed to stabilize things and make them consistent. Mobile site now seems to load OK. Still watching.
