    Hi Ben,

It’s been ages since I’ve had a look at updating the site and that usually means a refresh with a new theme but no need for that with TRACKS as it’s so awesome we all agree it doesn’t need changing ??

Would like to get the homepage to land on a single post page without having to pick from the menu if possible? Planning on putting all content on one post then having visitors arrive there scroll down, find what they need an click on links to take them to social media sites etc. No multiple categories needed. Going minimalist!

Can you help with how I would set the https://www.brokendownhq.co.uk address to land on on a single post?

Also (sorry to include this in here) but I’ve just copied everything to child theme as newest update was screwing with site. Does this mean I just continue to edit child theme from now on and don’t worry about updating main TRACKS theme?

    Many thanks in advance

    Hey Gwil,

Thanks for the kind words ??

Could you use a Page instead of a Post? If so, that will makes this easier since WordPress has a built-in option for this.

What you’ll want to do is publish a new, blank page and title it something like “Blog”. Then visit the Reading settings menu (Settings > Reading). In the first option there, you can assign a page to display on the homepage and select the “Blog” page to show all your posts (screenshot). This will give you a new homepage and place to list all your posts.

As for the file edits, I would recommend keeping all changes in the child theme. When a WordPress theme updates, it basically copies all the theme’s files in the new version over the files in the old version. Child themes exist so you can protect your customized files from being overwritten in this process.

Fantastic support as ever thanks Ben.

Had so much code hanging around that I’ve decided to start again and use a ‘page’ instead of a ‘post’ as you have suggested.

I expect that I can hash together the aesthetic change codes I can need by looking at my thread history but I may have a few more questions for you yet! ??

One questions I did have very quickly (and I’ll post into a new thread if necessary to) but any way that I can include iTunes, Amazon, Google play logo links etc into the menu bar at the top? Or no functionality for that yet?

    Thanks!

Awesome, yea that’s no problem ??

Tracks currently has Apple’s podcast icon. I can add Amazon, but not sure if I have icons available for iTunes and Google play at the moment.
