Like everyone else here, upgraded today. After clearing browser cache, everything seems to be working fine…except…

The longer the post, the more delay between keyboard entry and the text actually showing up on the screen. A brand new post works fine, until you get over 500 words or so. I’m sure this has something to do with the real-time scanning of the post.

We’ve tested this in different browsers, on three different PC’s. All Windows 10-based. One older computer would delay 5-10 seconds before text would appear. The other newer PCs all had 1-2 second delays.

Is there a way to disable the real-time scanning w/o reverting back to the previous version? Is there a fix coming?

  • Hi there,

Yes, I confirm ia2ca’s issue. I’ve got the same (MacOSX, Mozilla 42.0).
Not only text editor is laggy, but generates also a popup with the usual script debug issue.

Can you please update to the previous version. Because otherwise it is not possible to write any text due to the permanent scanning of whatever is being written.

    Many thanks.

    Hello,

same issue here, but not as bad. I wish it was possible to disable real-time scanning, which is pretty useless for me anyway.

    Thanks!

    Hi again,
    Just to let you know.
I updated with version 3.03. Unfortunately, the issue (delay between keyboard entry and display of the text) persists. I emptied the cache, no way to get back to normal.
Yoast Team! I wish you courage to fix all these issues and I’m sure a new version will come up soon.
PS: if I deactivate the plugin, everything rolls normally.

    Thank you.

Yes the same. Still have lag.

So far we haven’t been able to reproduce this problem. Could you please have a look at the memory profiler for JS and take a screenshot of it for us, when the problem occurs?

Read more about JS memory profiling here.

Hi TacoVerdo, i`m not sure if this is what you need. Please check:

I’m getting this problem too with Yoast 3.5. I had a slight problem already, but then after we upgraded to the new readability analysis it got a lot worse. WP is almost unusable now and everything takes an excruciatingly long time. I’m the only one at my company having this problem so I suspect there’s something on my machine that’s conflicting with Yoast content analysis but I can’t figure out what. I have two macbook pro 2011 with 2.5GHz, 16 GB memory running OS Sierra 10.12 and the problem happens on both machines in both safari and chrome, but does not happen in any other online typing platform except WP. Additionally, it does not happen on my own private WP site, which does not have Yoast installed. It would be incredibly useful if I could temporarily disable real time content analysis. Unfortunately I don’t have access to that level of control at my company. It would be great if there was some kind of toggle (at my level) to turn off the real time feature while I’m typing, then turn it back on at will.
