    Hi,

After the update to 16.7 the error "Yoast could not be updated due to critical error on the website" appeared. I also received the following error message by email:

In this case, WordPress caught a bug in one of your plugins, Yoast SEO.

First visit your website (https://gesund-geniessen.net/) and check for any visible problems. Next, visit the page on which the error occurred (https://gesund-geniessen.net/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?_fs_blog_admin=true) and check whether there are any visible problems.

My hoster informed me that everything is okay from his side and that I should pass the following information on to you: 2021/07/23 11:09:51 [error] 3021369 # 3021369: * 479959 FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP message:" PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method Yoast \ WP \ SEO \ Helpers \ Url_Helper :: network_safe_home_url () in / home / wp / disk / wordpress / wp-content / plugins / wordpress-seo / inc / class-wpseo -utils.php: 939

I don't know what the page linked in the mail should look like. I reloaded the page and now the error message is gone and it looks like the plugin has been updated.

    Hello Barbara,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The error you encountered sometimes occurs after an update, due to file changes and caching issues, WordPress might find some temporary errors. However, these errors are usually cleared once the update has been completed and the cache has been cleared.

We also checked your site and can confirm that you have Yoast SEO 16.7. This is the latest version and you have nothing to worry about.
