Known Plugin and Theme Conflicts 2.0.7

    Given the size and scope of the NextGEN 2.0.0 update, there have been a number of theme and plugin conflicts.

    We addressed many of these directly in 2.0.7 and we think other conflicts will be resolved from the same changes.

    So I just wanted to start another fresh thread with the current state of affairs as of NextGEN 2.0.7.

    If you find additional conflicts, please post them here for us and for other users with the name of the plugin and the symptom of the conflict.

    OTHER SLIDER/MENU CONFLICTS. We think most other theme conflicts affecting theme sliders or menus will also be resolved.

    UNRESOLVED: KNOWN PLUGIN AND THEME CONFLICTS

    PLUGIN CONFLICTS THAT AFFECT SLIDERS*Some of these may be fixed as well, but we haven’t confirmed.*

    SOLILOQUY SLIDER PLUGIN. May cause aspects of our interface to disappear.

    ROYAL SLIDER. Activating 2.0 prevent slider from working.

    EVOLUTION SLIDER. The sliders cease working with NG 2.0 installed.

    NIVO SLIDER (Standalone version). NextGen Gallery 2.0.0 overrides the NivoSlider menu and places it as a submenu of Gallery (I’m assuming in the back end).

    JUSTIFIED IMAGE GRID. Activating 2.0 prevent slider from working.

    NEXTGEN EXTENSION PLUGINS

    PHOTOSWIPE FOR NEXTGEN. Not working for some users with 2.0.

    SIMPLE PAYPAL SHOPPING CART. Not working for some users with 2.0.

    NEXTGEN CUSTOM FIELDS. Stopped working in templates.

    NEXTGEN GALLERY OPTIMIZER. Causes images to load solo (replaces the website) in the current browser window with NexGen 2.0.

    NEXTGEN NIVO SLIDER. Not working for some users with 2.0.

    OTHER PLUGIN CONFLICTS

    CONTACT FORM 7. In one case, seemed to cause site crash. In another, broke shortcodes.

    EASY DIGITAL DOWNLOADS. This plus NextGEN will throw some errors in the backgroud, but doesn’t seem to affect functionality.

    CART 66. Not working for some users with 2.0.

    DBTOOLKIT. When generating pages with Nextgen embedded in the code, not showing the thumbnails anymore.

    QTRANSLATE. Language shortcodes like [:en][:de] in “Alt & Title Text / Description” don’t work anymore.

    MAPPRESS EASY GOOGLE MAPS. This one causes NextGEN short codes to stop working and causes the Attach to Post interface to be blank when trying to add galleries.

    THEME CONFLICTS*Some of these may be fixed as well, but we haven’t confirmed.*

    ECCLESIA THEME. Works fine if you turn of NG permalinks, but there’s no longer any way to do this.

    FLEXFORM THEME. NG 2.0 affect the post/portfolio/team carousels in the theme. The theme carousels are completely hidden.

    RISE THEME. Causes Attach to Post interface to not appear.

  • @marionegp the compatibility issues with Nextgen and EDD are very minimal, so everything should work fine.

    I just upgraded to WordPress 3.6 and updated all my plugins. Now I’m getting the following error from Register Plus Redux that disappears when I deactivate NextGEN Gallery.

    “There is another active plugin that is conflicting with Register Plus Redux. The conflicting plugin is creating its own wp_new_user_notification function, this function is used to alter the messages sent out following the creation of a new user. Please refer to radiok.info for help resolving this issue.” I couldn’t find anything current on their site.

    NextGEN Gallery: v2.0.7
    Register Plus Redux: v3.9.10

    Hi there, thanks for your efforts! I’ve tentatively installed 2.0.7 on a new site in development and setting up some galleries and albums – all looks fine so far, but one thing I notice though is that the Link buttons in the Visual Editor no longer seem to work.

    The newest update conflicts with the Slidedeck 2 plugin. I think I will rollback to the older version of nextgen.

    Having trouble with Prestige theme (theme forest). It’s worked flawlessly before, but now I get a gray screen that not usable when trying to edit thumbs, and the slideshow doesn’t work (only simple image boxes appear when clicking on thumbnails).

    Same problem with 2.0.7 and when rolled back to 1.9.12.

    Help?

    Having a problem with News Theme (Theme Forest) https://themeforest.net/item/news/5006704 . The light-box stop working under the theme and the css is not correct.

    it is not working with [Auto Thickbox Plus] because if I activating use built-in thickbox with ngg there is no problem, but if I use modified thickbox from ATP the images does not open.. just getting a short time the loading screen and after it there is nothing as only the darker background..

    After upgrading to NextGEN 2.0.7 Tag Sticky Post plugin stopped working. (WordPress 3.6)
    When disable NextGEN 2.0.7 Tag Sticky Post works fine.

    Any suggestions?

    Had enough of the issues caused by the recent upgrades breaking plugins on the site, will be finding an alternative to NextGen.

    I’m using Headway and Contact Form 7. After upgrading the columns on my site are screwed up. If I set it to zero the thumbnails are distributed evenly, but if I specify any other number of columns I get weird line breaks with uneven rows.

    For example 3 gives me a row of 3 thumbnails, then 1, then a row of 2.

    It’s the gallery templates that are causing the problem. If don’t select any template the rows and columns are even, but the spacing is very tight with them aligned to the left.

    How do I add padding so the fill the width of the page?
    That’s how it was before I updated.

    Can you resolve the “Strict Standards” bugs reports. These bugs are displayed if WordPress is set to DEBUG mode???? This is big problem during development WP themes. Or maybe some trick-solution?

    I’m completetly new to WordPress and NextGen, so I’m not very fluent with fixing it myself. So for you know…

    I use the Lifestyle Child’s Play theme and the gallery does not work and disables access to my whole site when enabled. Hope you get it fixed ASAP!

    Hi photocrati – just to add my experience –

    I use NextGEN Scroll Gallery but since NextGEN 2.0 it has stopped working. I searched back through these forums, and checked the changelog but did not find any mention of this particular plugin.

    Page & admin display fine, but plugin functionality is lost – large image should scroll automatically, with small image thumbs scrolling too.
    I now see scroll bars and no auto-scrolling of large image or thumbs.
    (I am fully uptodate with WP and all plugins, and running 2.0.7 NextGEN).

    I am about to roll back to 1.x, but wondered if I can expect a 2.x fix for this any time soon?
