I have a problem to understand how to set up the event calendar in the way, that a klick on the event title in “Veranstaltungen” (german page) leads to a page, where I described the event in more detail. But klick in the event title a page opens (https://civv-info.org/http-civv-info-org-attuale-informazioni-current-new-information-aktuelles-events/civv-event-amsterdam/) which has chaos content, and which I didn’t made and which has no information about the event. ??
In order to finde a solution i put this ‘page name’ in the form: “URL-Titelform (Permalink) für Veranstaltungen” in the event calendar settings, as well as into the form “Die URL für einzelne Veranstaltungen”. My expectation was, that the detail event content will then be shown. But it was not.
Does anybody understand my problem and understood what i tried to describe?

and also see https://civv.info which is my test-side. There you see a proper function: when you klick on a event name in the right side bar you receive a detail page: https://civv.info/?tribe_events=test-event-zum-testen-des-links
I have no idea why it is not working in my original website.

    Hey there @civv,

    Thanks for your reaching out!

First, I would suggest working through our testing for conflicts guide. This is always a great first step when troubleshooting. I would also update your permalinks: Settings ? Permalinks ? Save.

Let us know what you come up with.

    Have an awesome day!

    Hello There,
thank you for try to help. I updated my permalinks as far as I understood what you mean, and I had solved another little problem, I mean, my “event” page is now visible (https://civv-info.org/attuale-informazioni-current-new-information-aktuelles/veranstaltungen/?lang=en) , but if I klick one of the events, still the same silly page appear (https://civv-info.org/event/civv-event-amsterdam/?lang=en) which is NOT the details of the event!?
I Try testing for conflict guide, will see what I learn there…
hope you understand my lack of experience…
    Thank you

Hey Ed, I started with testing for conflicts
    1. Test, if there is a conflict
switched off all but one plugin, even the qtranslate x, photo gallery and all, deleted the cache, start the website, result: the same problem. so conflict exist somewhere else.
    2. Find source of conflict
step one: no other theme was used before and after, so no test possible
step two: useless to use, because my problem still exist with all but one (the event calendar) plugin enabled, so I partially activated the plugins I need, result: no change.
Lokk for solution: hm, this is the reason why I’m here, after days of testings.
    Other tests I made:
I compared my original website, the one with the problem, civv-info.org with my test website, which does not have that problem (see civv.info), I made all settings the same. All I mean, all I found, or all I know. I am sure there is one I miss, but which one? E.g.: permalink settings: are the same (now), no change, set of plugins are nearly the same, I work on it to complete, but after test step 1, I don’t expect to have a conflict with plugins.
Then, the theme is the same: Graphene.

another finny test: in the admin page, events – settings (in german Veranstaltung – Einstellungen) there is a header of modern tribe telling me “wo ist mein Kalender?” Where is my calendar? it is here “genau hier
result when you klick there: the bullshit problem page!
There must be a cache, where this problem is saved, which i cannot delete or update. maybe Im silly, but where does this page comes from?

And if one day the event detail page Weill work as it should and as t does in my test website (civv.info) the there will be a last question, which i tried to solve with my it-experienced friends: why you see the no title and why you see a title called ‘(No Title)’? see https://civv.info/event/2-test-event-zun-testen-der-links/”

Looks like you were pretty thorough!

As far as the page cache goes, it would have to be on the server. If you are using a plugin like WP Super Cache or Jetpack, you would need to clear the cache within the plugin.

After looking at the site a bit more, it looks like the WordPress loop may have been tampered with, this could also cause the no title error that you are seeing.

There’s a couple more things you can try:

    • Clean The Events Calendar install (backup, delete and reinstall)
    • Check for cache plugins
    • Activate an unmodified theme like Twenty Seventeen. This step is to see if changes of the theme code has broken anything

    Hopefully that helps!

Hello Ed, thank you for these more topics, i’ll go one after the other:
Clean The events calendar: Yes, I tried but i was not successful: I deleted the plugin in my installation, and expected to install new and put new events into the calendar, but after reinstall, all old events appeared alone! So I assume, the plugin was not really deleted in my database. How can I delete it really?
    (back up I use regularly)
check for cache plugins: I don’t use and don’t have
Activate an unmodified theme … hm, I didn’t change any theme code, but try.. Installed twenty seventeen: what a nightmare to implement sidebar..

I changed the menu and now you can see “Veranstaltungen” which are now properly presented. But I couldn’t find so far the function to set a sidebar, I mean a second column as I had before, where I presented The Event Calendar and the language switch…

Result so far is: The Event Calendar works properly in another theme. But is there a mistake in my former theme graphene or is there a wrong setting somewhere which I can remove by delete all and install again fresh?

    (@civv)

In forums it has been said, there is a sidebar in this theme twenty seventeen, but I don’t see how to make it visible in my new theme…

    Hey there @civv!

Sometimes theme developers try to create compatible themes for our plugins which can become broken when things update or were never coded right in the first place.

If you create a page called Events and set it to the default events page, you should be able to change that page template to include a sidebar. You could also try a plugin like Custom Sidebars.

Since this wasn’t an issue with The Events Calendar, I’m going to go ahead and mark this as resolved. Please feel free to reach out and create a new thread if you have any questions or issues.

    Take care,
    Ed ??
