Thank you for the great plugin, I have two questions regarding the Klarna-Option offered by the WooPayments plugin.

    1. Do I need an account with Klarna in order to use this option? I had previously used the Giropay option (which is not available anymore due to Giropay closing down) and did not need an account with them to process payments. So how is this handled with Klarna via your plugin?
    2. Does the Klarna-option offer the “Sofortüberweisung”-Option (Immediate Bank Transfer) or only the option to pay in instalments. In Germany, Klarna runs two payment options, the regular instalment payment and the bank transfer. My question is, is there an option to only use “Klarna Sofortüberweisung” with this plugin, not the instalment payment version?

    Hello kh93,

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

When you enable the Klarna payment method you will asked for business information.
Different BNPL providers require different information but it is mostly business and country-related.

The Klarna payment method allows customers to either buy now, pay later (BNPL), or pay immediately (Pay Now). Which of these options is offered to customers depends on the customer’s country and the amount of their purchase. For details check this guide

Please don’t hesitate to contact us again if you have more questions or concerns.

@doublezed2 Thank you for your reply, just a quick follow up:

    1. So there is no need for me to sign up on Klarna as well to have an account there too? Are the payments then managed via the Stripe account, or how are the payments received?

Which of these options is offered to customers depends on the customer’s country and the amount of their purchase.

    2. Thank you for the link and further information. How about if I want to use “Pay Now” only and disable the “Buy Now Pay Later” option, can this be done? Or is on by default?

As stated in the documentation, the BNPL payment methods are managed via your Stripe account.
You might be asked for additional information, once Stripe has verified the information, the BNPL method should automatically be enabled.

Thank you for the link and further information. How about if I want to use “Pay Now” only and disable the “Buy Now Pay Later” option, can this be done? Or is on by default?

By default, both options (Pay Now and Buy Now Pay Later) are displayed during the checkout process.
There is no option to hide one and show another.
