    Hi there,
we’ve got a serious problem with how discounted products are being handled. Here’s the deal:

    1. On our site: Everything looks good. Discounts are applied and shown correctly.
    2. Checkout process: Still all good. Discounted prices are displayed as they should be.
    3. The problem: When customers are redirected to the Klarna platform to complete payment, the original (non-discounted) price is shown instead of the discounted price.

    Example:

    • Product original price: €100
    • Discounted price on our site: €50
    • Price shown on Klarna platform: €100 (This is wrong)

    This is causing major issues:

    • Customers are seeing incorrect (higher) prices when they’re about to pay.
    • It’s damaging trust and likely causing lost sales.

    How can we fix it?

    Thank you!
    Paolo

    Hi Paolo,

Are you using any specific plugin to create and handle discounts?
How have you configured the discount?

We’re using the “Advanced Dynamic Pricing For WooCommerce” plugin to create and handle discounts.

Here’s the strange part: Until a few days ago, we didn’t have any problems. We were receiving orders for discounted products, and they were being paid at the correct (discounted) price through Klarna.

This sudden change in behavior is what’s puzzling us. We haven’t made any significant changes on our end that could explain this issue.

Could there have been a recent update on Klarna’s side that might be affecting how it interacts with our discount plugin? Or perhaps a change in how Klarna processes the price data from WooCommerce?

We’re keen to get this resolved as it’s affecting our sales. Let me know if you need any more details about our setup or if you want me to run any tests on our end.

Thanks for your help with this!

      Hi Paolo,

We released a new version of Klarna Payments for WooCommerce 19 August, version 3.6.0. Do you know if the issue appeared right after you updated to the latest version of the plugin?

Is the issue solved if you try and rollback to the previous version of the plugin? You can use the WP Rollback plugin to try that.

Thanks for the suggestion about the plugin version. I’ve just tried rolling back the Klarna Payments for WooCommerce plugin as you recommended, using the WP Rollback plugin. Unfortunately, the issue persists even with the previous version.

We’ve conducted tests using third-party plugins to process payments with Klarna, and those other plugins don’t show any problems.

Given these results, I’m wondering if this could be related to the recent official WooCommerce updates? Is it possible that changes in the latest WooCommerce version might be affecting how price data is communicated to Klarna through your official plugin?

Thanks for your continued help on this,
      Paolo

      Hi Paolo,

You can try and rollback to earlier versions of the WooCommerce plugin via the WP Rollback plugin and see of that makes any difference.

To see if the issue might be due to any compatibility with any other plugin or current theme please try the following:

      • Try and change the theme to Storefront which is the theme our plugins are tested for and see if that helps.
      • If that does not help try and deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce, Advanced Dynamic Pricing For WooCommerce and our Klarna plugins and see if the issue is solved. If so, activate all plugins again one by one to see what plugin might be causing the issue.
      • Also go to WooCommerce Status –> Tools, Clear customer sessions and Clear template cache.

I suggest that you try this in a staging environment of your site to make sure not to effect your live site and customers. You can read more about staging environments here.
