• Dear Shield Security Team, I would like to request for the removal of certain information from the access restricted page. What i mean here is that, When a user triggers the firewall rule set, They would see a page which shows them a message that their access to the site is restricted. There is a few elements to be removed from this page:

    1) The Shield Security branding. I dont feel like there is a need to let my visitors know what security plugin is being utilized as it is a part of the backend security operations therefore the confidentiality should be maintained especially when it clearly mentioned that it is a WordPress Security Plugin. I dont want my users to even know i’m utilizing wordpress so obviously at the first place.. Especially when a firewall rules is BREAKED, There is high chances that the rule breaker is eventually attempting to impose a threat to ny site and looking in on what is there to protect my site as part of their execution plan later on.

    • I do understand on regards of the importance of the branding of your security service as you deserve it as you’re doing a great job. But something like: Your Access to this Site has Been Blocked. This Site is protected by a security service which is an initiative of SHIELD SECURITY. Thats enough i guess. At least it does not directly reveal and Dont insert links of your site for my blocked users to visit your site with all those links.

    2) The total time in which the user would remain blocked. I dont see the need to let the blocked ones know that for how long they would be unable to access the site. Mostly all websites has their dedicated contact channels, the user could reach them to inform on the blockage and request for a removal of blacklist manually. If we felt we would like to inform for how long he would be remained blocked, Then we might reveal based on our own discretion. You can add a feature in your pro version where the site administrstor could customize the page and insert their contact channel on the blocked page to directly reach the site authority.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts.

While we do value our branding, we also respect Shield members’ need for discretion. Our White Label feature already addresses this by allowing you to remove our branding from the all Shield’s access restricted (blocking) pages. This ensures a seamless experience for your visitors without revealing the security plugin being used and won’t associate it with WordPress.

We respect your viewpoint on not displaying the duration of blockage. However, based on our continued communication with Shield members, we can tell that they often appreciate knowing how long they may need to wait before accessing a site again. In situations where their site visitors might be concerned about their access, having an estimated timeframe can alleviate uncertainties.

As for unblocking users/visitors in general, there’s an automatic-unblock feature in Shield that allows them to unblock without contacting site admins.

As for blocking pages customisation, we’d like to inform you that we already have plans in motion to introduce an option to address this (including the ability to remove blocking duration). This enhancement is on our roadmap for future releases, and we believe it will provide Shield members with the flexibility to tailor the access restricted pages to align with their site’s branding and communication preferences.

Lastly, we’d appreciate if you could consider the possibility of adjusting your rating to more accurately reflect the value of our response. Your feedback highlights areas for improvement, and your revised rating would better represent the impact of your suggestions and the feature we already have.

Thanks once again for your feedback and valuable contribution to the Shield Security community! ??

Hi and Good day @jmisic and the entire shield security team.

I had gone through your reply over the feedback that i’ve provided above and it seems that i’m satisfied with the answer provided. On regards of the rating, The rating provided is based on what the plugin deserve at that time of the review been posted and seems that the requests been made are already on your projection list, The rating would be amended to 4.0. In order for a top level rating [5.0], Rest Assured that, Your plugin was recently installed and i’m in the midst of getting the manual security part done specifically on the directory where this site and your plugin was activated. Upon Completion of required security restrictions, Your plugin would be re-activated back to check on its compatibility over the restrictions set manually on files such as permissions, etc. Then, my appointed ethical response team would be conducting an overall process of an ethical hacking on this site specifically to look for vulnerabilities subject to what is activated from your plugin to check on the effectiveness rate. If any issue found, The rating would not be decreased and a feedback would be provided. If everything went fine, You’ll be provided with a top level 5 Star Rating and you’ll be recommended to the others that i know.

Just to share, Basically, I run two wordpress based sites on one domain under two different subdirectories [Not Multisite installation]. The installation on another directory utilizes entirely different plugins including the security plugin from this. The security plugin on another site was tested within the same process and now it has been 3 years of putting the trust on them and their plugin is the only one where automatic updates are enabled [So much trust]. Now, I hope the same from shield as well for my this installation.
