    Hello,

I duplicated one of my article so that I can work on a new version of it. This plugin changed my original article from published to draft and RankMath detected this change and created a redirection from the old to the new one (/name-artilce-2). Even though I deleted the redirection created by Rankmath, it is still active !!! I searched the DB and could not find a way to remove this sticky redirection. By the Way, I cleared the site cache several times as well as my navigator.

    Hi @simone13425

Our plugin does not have any code that can modify original posts, it can only read data from them, I believe the issue you experienced is caused by mentioned third party plugin.

Nevertheless based on what you said, it sounds like your browser cached the redirection, if you disabled it, it’s most likely disabled.

To verify that you can use such tool: https://wheregoes.com/

Simply put the original URL and check if this tool shows the redirection to post with “-2” ending. If it does not, it means all is fine and the redirection is only on your browser side, which you should be able to confirm in incognito mode or after clearing site cache in your browser.

Let me know my assumption is right ??
    Thank you!

    Hello,

thanks for your prompt reply. I believe that your plugin somehow changed my original article to the status of draft and automatically published the duplicate one. After removing rankmath automatic redirection, WordPress kept the redirection. I finally, realized that republishing my original post that has been set as draft, solved the problem.

I think it’s much safer to duplicate my post manually rather than using a plugin.

    thanks

    Hi @simone13425

Maybe RankMath plugin changed the status of the post while setting the automatic redirection, that makes sense to me if that’s what the plugin was created for, you may also report this to RankMath author if that’s the case they may prevent unintended automatic actions for draft posts.

But I understand your frustration and I hope you will have better experience in future.
