• I have tried every suggestion in the forum.

I was editing my home page and got kicked out when I tried to preview the site. Got the message that I wasn’t allowed to preview drafts. I got some weird login screen that I’d never seen before. It wouldn’t accept my login, nor would it allow me to create a new password. It just kept returning to empty login fields when I hit “submit.” I never received an email with a new password link.

I checked my other WordPress site, vipvoiceservices.com, (which I haven’t touched in weeks) and I’m also unable to log in there.

viptsg.com is the site I’ve been working on.

I’ve deactivated all plugins and themes to no avail.
I’ve replaced the login.php to no avail.
I’ve restored a clean backup to no avail.

I can’t log in to either dashboard, and none of the pages except the front page work on either site.

Both sites are hosted via DreamHost. None of our other sites are experiencing these issues. Just the www.remarpro.com sites.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Have you checked with DreamHost?

I have also added DreamHost to the tags.

I went to your login page and noticed there was no CSS (that is, the display was wrong). That, combined with your URLs not working, made me think it was a .htaccess issue.

Since I work at DreamHost, I went in and turned off your .htaccess file. Lo and behold, the login looked right but thus began a series of other errors…

Wordfence was missing and yet still being called. I think it broke on an upgrade, but when I reinstalled it, it did not re-activate.

Any time I attempt to restore your .htaccess, the site spins and refuses to load. I left it renamed old.htaccess which means your front page loads but none of your links do (which is not great, I know).

Then I upgraded WordPress SEO (which is the only redirection related plugin that wasn’t up to date) and now the site is working again!

    WHEW!

Then I went to vipvoiceservices and updated both Wordfence and WordPress SEO were up to date. That seemed to also fix the weird login page.

You’ll have to reactivate WordFence on viptsg, which I think was the culprit here. Something went weird in it’s upgrade. Probably a corrupt file somewhere, which is rare, but happens ??
