    I think you did the setup correct. The Problem here is Google. Since 2011 Google delivers the SERPs via https, they called it Google Secure Search Update. The Problem here is,that you don′t see the Keywords in Google Analytics anymore.
    To get an idea, which keywords my User googled I use https://keyword-hero.com/ or my Google Search Console-Data.
