I don’t get something. On the website of Yoast they write keywords are outdated (which they are) and not to be used but on their home page the #1 selling point for premium is “More Keywords”?

You may be referring to Meta Keywords. We are no longer using Meta Keywords in the plugin — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/meta-keywords-yoast-seo/

These are different from the Focus Keywords that we do use. You can learn more about the differences here — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/the-difference-between-focus-keywords-and-meta-keywords/

I am also trying to migrate from AIO SEO to Yoast and i found that all the meta keywords has been stripped off after migrating to Yoast.

I have almost 2000 posts on 5 yrs old blog.

So not sure if i gain or loose by migrating to Yoast.

I have used meta keywords exactly in a way how you define “focus keywords” on your site and knowledebase.

So not having my meta keywords from AIOSEO is what keeps me away from Yoast as for now , until you give me a satisfying reply. My site’s SEO could go haywire without meta keywords. Can you guarantee ?

Meta keywords will not be included as part of an import from AIO SEO since we no longer use them in the plugin so that is the expected behavior. As there isn’t a feature to convert meta keywords to focus keywords you would need to set those up to ensure that your site’s pages are optimized.

Since there is no further response, setting to resolved.
