Are you using any caching plugins?

Normally the plugin would not work this way? I do not use any caching plugin, there is some configuration that I can adjust to fix this problem?

    My site

To test, I disabled all plugins, but siwtcher continued working the same way.

I am not sure why this is happening on your site. I tested three different WordPress sites and I am able to navigate to other pages with the theme that was called either via URL or widget. Perhaps there is something about the configuration or themes you are using that is interfering.

    Strange …

I tried changing the theme to Twenty Fourteen alternating with Twenty Twelve, yet the problem persists. Any idea to fix this?

The reason may be the version of wordpress? I’m using 4.0.

I tested on two sites using WordPress 4.0 and it works as expected. Perhaps you could do a fresh installation of WordPress and install only the themes and themeswitcher reloaded plugin and test to see if it is working. That will help to identify if it is a configuration / plugin problem. Don’t forget that you do have to activate the widget, set options and save to get it working after installing. Of course, you can delete the widget once options have been set.

    Hello,

I followed your advice and did a fresh install with only the default themes wordpress.

https://www.orlando4all.com/switcher (the widget is at the bottom)

    But it did not work.

As my site is hosted on bluehost.com, and the installation of wordpress is automatic, I decided to do the installation manually:

    https://www.orlando4all.com/switcher2

But once again it did not work.

I did the test we can conclude that it is not conflicting plugin, no problem with the theme, is not a problem with the installation of wordpress. What remains to be seen if there is some problem in the server configuration.

On the server side, what are the requirements for running the plugin? Do you have any idea of ??server configuration that can result in poor functioning of the plugin?

    Thank you!

I did further testing on one of my sites that has a server running APC caching and Theme Switcher Reloaded is working as expected whether I use full name or short name as the option and whether I call the theme via widget or URL.

It is possible that Bluehost is using some other sort of server level caching that is interfering. Perhaps you can contact Bluehost and find out if they are using caching and if so, if there is a way to either disable it for your account or somehow bypass the caching. Based on our testing, this seems to be a hosting issue. That is all I can think of at this point. Good luck!

I just thought of one other thing. Maybe having WordPress installed in a subdirectory interferes. I don’t have time to test for that right now, but if you can install WordPress at the root directory and test, that might be one other possibility to try.

Would you like to give feedback on my problem, both for the author and for others who may face a similar situation.

In the end the problem was indeed the server cache. The Bluehost offers a cache based on a tool called Varnish. Disable it sufficed that the plugin started to work correctly.

Thanks again to the author of the plugin support!!

Glad you were able to figure out the issue and that a solution was available ??
