• I have my wordpress installations running on a VPS (at linode.com). I want to make sure that when a user uses the “FS Contact Form” the resulting email doesn’t end up in a “spam” folder on the recipient’s computer.

I’m wondering, do I need to install opendkim or do I need any other special email configuration on my VPS?

    Hello,
Thank you very much for replying to my question.

Before asking this question I did read that page you mention and did not find the answer there. However I understand that the question I’m asking has very complex implications and may be beyond the scope of this forum. Nowadays the whole question of spam filters is a complex one.

Another contact form plugin “Contact Form 7” seems to have this issue quite figured out; that one is integrated with the “postmark” service. But I was wondering if FS Contact Form has thought about this issue.

To be more specific, if I setup wordpress on a VPS (Virtual Private Server) and install postfix for email, is it reasonable to expect that emails send via FS Contact Form will get past Spam filters and reach the recipient’s inbox or are there some minimum requirements that you recommend be present on any email installation?

    Thank you

Hi, as you mentioned above. This is a very challenging issue. There are many ways to tackle the spam problem. Most severs nowadays have tools in place to help reduce spam and assist your e-mails not landing in a spam box. But with all those in place many are still having issues. I myself have run into this issue a few times and my site also run in a VPS.

Try what you suggest above and report back with anything you find.

    Regards
