Keeping search bar, deleting toggle icon

I’m trying to edit a theme so that the search bar is always visible. Right now, I have a toggle search bar icon that shows the search bar when toggled on and removes it when toggled off. I have tried removing the toggle icon altogether, but then my search box disappears too. How do I get rid of the toggle icon without deleting my search box as well..?
