Keeping Categories when using Post Type Switcher

Hi!
I am on the edge of needing to migrate 400 blog posts to a Custom Post type, and wonder if there are:
1) any bulk options for this plugin?
2) any way to migrate the category of the original post to the new (now portfolio) custom post?Many thanks
