Keeping bullet list straight

I’m having a problem keeping my bullet lists in a vertical column next to an image. If list elements drop below the bottom of an image they will shift and display underneath it. I have placed the information I want in the column and placed it withing a <div> inside the post with a float:right; definition in my stylesheet, but my bullet lists still wrap to the left under the image. I have also set all the images on the page to alignleft.

What am I doing wrong?
