• Hi there, minor problem, may be related to my server config but im not sure.

Recently, my site (shadednecros.net) has prompted me to d/l the php file (eg Post.php) whenever I click the confirm / save / publish button after about 20 – 30seconds after clicking.

This has only just happened and means that updating / editing posts and also publishing is hard as it is hit or miss as to whether the post is published or not.

Any ideas? Thanks for your time

  • Update: pingomatic WAS the cause. Their site is currently working EXTREMELY slowly. For some reason, when the pinging process lags, you get a prompt to open / save the post.php file.

Removing pingomatic from my ping list fixed the problem. I’ll add them back in whenever their site gets to moving a bit quicker.

I’ve had the .php download problem on publishing since upgrading to Firefox 1.5 but have twice been unable to publish in the past week. I tried replacing post.php but a reboot straight after solved the problem (Windows 2K Pro).

With the number of complaints regarding, I’m amazed it hasn’t been identified yet.

I’ve been having the same problem with new posts wanting to download execute-pings.php, and today after installing ImageManager 2.0, all of a sudden I can’t open the plugin manager – I’m prompted to download plugins.php.

This happens in FireFox – IE simply fails to load the page.

For the record, I’ve tried it on both my main machine (Win XP Pro) and an alternate (Win2k).

I’m going to manually delete ImageManager and hope that resolves the plugins problem, and I’ve already deleted the pingomatic link in hopes of resolving that little annoyance.

If it’s a timeout problem, is there something I can adjust to wait longer or fail more gracefully?

It was, 2 posts above yours:
    Update: pingomatic WAS the cause.

… and there’s a plugin that will run the pings async.

    Search and ye shall find.

Sorry, Yosemite… pingomatic is NOT the cause.

I deleted pingomatic (leaving only technorati), and still get prompted to download execute-pings.php. I had to delete ImageManager in order to view the plugins page without being prompted for a download. I deleted all unused plugins and tried it again – same thing.

There is a more serious problem here.

Thanks for the… reply? I’m sure I’m not alone in hoping for a real solution to this.

FYI, although it was not identified as a “fixed bug”, I did a manual upgrade of the cpanel installed 2.02 to 2.03 and am no longer experiencing this (posting -> download execute-pings.php) problem.

I have not yet reinstalled the problematic plugins, though – so no idea if the plugins.php error is gone.

HELPPPPPPPPPPPP, someone fix that before a took everithink from my server, iam going mad…

    Can anyone try to see!

    FF1.5 Prompt “
    Opening edit.php
    wich is a: w //WHAT A HELL IS THIS
    from: https://artideias.com
    …..

What means ” wich is a:w” any clue?!

I edit all my post and disable, i think in english is “allow ping” above “allow comments”. left menu

And after that i can go to manage/edit.php

I dont know if pings are important? for now it’s good but if someone have a fix in the future let us all know

Sorry, Yosemite… pingomatic is NOT the cause.

Read it again. The problem this thread was about was solved. Your problem was not the same thing. Obviously.

Yet another reason to avoid hijacking threads.
