Keep getting blank white screens

  • Hi,
    Ever since the major upgrade of BetterWP Security, I am getting blank white screens every few pages I browse.
    It’s not the white error screen which locks you out for a few minutes because when I refresh the page I come back to the position I was before the white screen.
    Also, if I got the white screen while saving some settings, when I refresh the page the data is there so the save was not interrupted only the display.
    I have read in one of the recent smaller updates that you have dealt with the white screens problem but it never went away.
    how can this be fixed?
    it happens also in the front-end for users and this is a major issue.

    Same here, but strangely, it does not do this on all of the sites I use this on even though they are on the same server. Front end of site is fine and pageload is good; admin is constantly giving me white screen (although whatever I was Saving or doing seems to execute in the end). I have to reload the page to see the result. Very disturbing.

    You may be running out of resources when a process is running. Can you set WP_DEBUG to true in your wp-config.php and let me know if you see an error on any of the blank screens.

    You might also want to ask your host if they can increase your PHP memory and max execution time.

    I ran debug and all was fine… but after finding another post that mentioned huge error logs I cleared my error logs and voilà! That was the trick! I also experimented with upping memory on my server but that wasn’t the issue once the logs were erased.
