JW Player and Windows Phone

    Hi all.

    Does anyone know whether the JW Player works for Windows Phone (I’m trying on Windows Phone 8). The video shows as a holder, but when you try to play it either doesn’t with an icon in the top left corner (looks like ta page with two arrows) or a message comes up saying my device can’t play the media.

    I’ve tried in both Flash and HTML forms but neither work. Thanks.

    Our WP plugin, which is not yet updated to JW6, might not support Windows Phone 8, as that device was not out when the JW5 player was released. However, the latest player version, 6, should work on Windows Phone 8, though. You can look at the example here – https://www.longtailvideo.com/jw-player/

    Just tried that and it works fine, so looks like it’s JW5 that isn’t working, so thank you for the information.

    Any ideas when JW6 will be available for WordPress, and will any players already embedded into posts run using the JW5 or JW6 player? Thanks.

    Np. You can certainly embed JW6 into WordPress right now using manual JW Player Embed Code for the time being. We are going to update the plugin soon to support JW6, though. If you are using the WP plugin now, it will use JW5.
