Just what I'm looking for to get started with git!!!

This is a really simple way (and free) to start incorporating git into my default workflow (which uses no local dev environment). Coupled with bitbucket and its free and unlimited private repositories, I can see this coming in handy for many personal, probono and smaller client projects.

Not only this will allow me to harmlessly try out things on the live site (by creating a ‘dev’ branch via Revisr and merge it into ‘master’ once everything is confirmed to work as intended), it also doubles as continuous back up for the full site (WP core files, /upload folder, and database dump). And to top it off, I can easily restore to any previous version of the site via Commmits >> Revert files.
