Just updated the plugin, and email is no longer sending. Using Gmail. The message in WordPress says “Host must be a string.”

    Hi @kroseman,

Can you please share the domain name where you have configured Gmail mailer? Does it have any sorts of redirects between domains?
Are you using GSuite or usual Gmail email address?
If GSuite – are your email addresses look like [email protected] or GSuite is configured to another domain and make redirects to your current domain?

WP Mail SMTP 1.8.1 has just been released.

It should fix the issue with Gmail and Sendinblue mailers and “Host must be a string” error.
