• Hello, I am not too technical so please bear with what may be a stupid problem. ??

I had WordPress 2.7 (I think it was that or 2.8) running with a theme with no issues whatsoever.

I got a pop up in my Admin panel that I could update to 3.1.3, so I backed up my file shut off my plug ins and took the plunge.

After doing it and turning back on the plugins everything looked fine, but when I wrote a new article and published it privately to test, I saw the slider and thumbnail on the front page as it should be but when I click on the slider to take me to the article, I see a solid black page and no article.

Same thing happened when I clicked “Preview” when I was writing the article.

    Thank you for any advice.

It looks like you may not have read what I said, but you quoted me right.

Again, I never said I would not turn anything off.

As you correctly quoted me, I said switching themes was not an option for me.

Thanks again for the suggestions and answers.

Did this update mention that features were being taken away? I never upgraded before and did not know.

Not switching themes means you won’t turn your current theme OFF. It’s semantics, but anyway. Point is you need to do two things.

    1) turn off ALL your plugins
    2) try with the default theme

Let us know how that goes.

Yes, the video/YouTube thing was mentioned in an update, but I believe it was removed in 3.1 (two revs back) so that’s why it’s not mentioned in 3.1.3
