• Hi,

I would like to just track the homepage of my site. I was wondering how I can do this. Do I just enter the url for the homepage in the custom url field and just track custom urls or is there a better way?

Also, does doing so impact the performance score of the page. I noticed that when i just do a custom url with my homepage url, the page will score high (93) but then the overall score shows something like 80.

If I am understanding you correctly, you would want to ‘uncheck’ all of the post types except for “Check Custom URLs” in the options. And then add your homepage as a custom URL. It sounds like you’ve already done this, and yes I think that is the best way to accomplish your goals.

As for your second question I am not sure I understand the distinction you are making between the page score (93) and the “overall score” of around 80?

To broadly answer your question, checking it as a custom URL vs. checking it as a ‘page’ has no bearing on the result.

Results do bounce a round for a variety of reasons though. Whether or not the cache (if you have one) was well primed. How long the server took to respond, etc.
