• This plugin has been getting better and better. The latest update offered some nice performance boosts. I use it on all sites I work on to help clear out old junk. It does get overly aggressive at times, so I recommend running a link checker on the site prior to emptying the trash. Speaking of that, the trash feature should always be enabled by default.

Thanks a lot, I am really glad my plugin helps ?? Indeed, it’s through a lot of enhancements and speed boosts, and it’s not finished. I am also waiting and hoping everyone will use PHP 7 and modern versions of WordPress so that I an even optimize it further.

Normally, there wouldn’t be any need for a link checker to be ran after, as Media Cleaner also work like one (it checks the links first, to resolve the filenames in use). If you find a particular case which is not covered (and detected as non-used), let me know. I’ll work on it ??

You need to cut those PHP 5 people off and leave ’em in the dust. ??

I had one website recently where the cleaner grabbed about 8 different images. I’ll try and re-create the issue and if possible I’ll get you more details.

While I have you, one thing I noticed today is that even with the trash enabled you still see a “Delete All” and “Delete” button. Seeing the word “Delete” makes you think it’s just going to permanently delete the file. It might be better to use the word “Trash” when the trash is enabled to make it 100% clear what’s going to happen with the image.

For the images on that site I had the issue with I set them all to ignored. Would it be helpful for you to see those somehow? I have a pro account so let me know if there’s a better place to send support questions.

You are very right, I should probably use Trash instead of Delete. I’ll do this in the next release (or the one after that).

For the other issue, don’t hesitate to contact me directly, indeed, that will be better ??
