• I’ve just moved my wordpress site from one domain to another following the instructions. The site is now up and running on the new server but i can’t get the custom permalinks to work? If i switch back to default permalinks it works but i’ve tried saving that, then changing it back to custom but i just get 404 errors. When i switch it back it asks me to either make my root folder writable (which i don’t think is possible with godaddy) or add a web.config file with the code provided, i tried that but it broke the whole thing. I’ve moved from a linux server to a windows server if that sheds any light on it. I’ve been searching for an answer for ages but nothing i try seems to work ??

I also noticed my widgets aren’t working, this isn’t a big deal as i can add them all again but maybe it is all related. I did a find and replace for all the old links in the database but maybe i shouldn’t have changed them all?

    Can anyone help? Thanks!
