Keep getting the following error when trying to upload media:

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp/php0wbIfj) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/) in /home/style125/public_html/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2505

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/style125/public_html/wp/wp-includes/functions.php:2505) in /home/style125/public_html/wp/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866

    Any ideas?

  • Yes, there’s an error in the functions.php file. I’m guessing when you say, just installed… you mean theme? If so, it’s buggy and I would try another.

Hi Christine and thanks for the response. By install, I meant that I just installed it on a web site I’m building. It was bundled with a hosting package.

I would try switching to the twenten theme and see if the error goes away. If it does, then there’s a problem with the theme.

Check you have no blank lines before the opening php statement and that there are no blank lines after the closing php statement in functions.php.

i am experiencing the same problem/error. I just checked all the suggestions above but nothing is working. I downloaded the latest version of wordpress and switched back to twenten theme as well.

I’ve also tried everything. Perhaps it’s because I’ve installed wordpress through the cpanel on my website? Because if I go through the normal channels through wordpress I can upload a header no problem. It seems I don’t have permission to do it on my website however.
