I have just installed multisite onto https://jobs4thais.com and everything went smoothly but nothing has shown up in the dashboard, there is no super admin panel or anything and nothing to select sites or add new sites. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Any help is much appreciated.

Hi This is what it says:

    $table_prefix = ‘wp_’;

Darn. I was hoping it was a known issue with not having a table prefix.

Also when i go to Network Setup it says – Warning: An existing WordPress network was detected.

That implies that your server HAS the stuff on it.

In your database, do you have a wp_blog and wp_sites tables?

    I have wp_blogs and wp_site

Idea #1: Don’t bump. We’re volunteers, we have lives and jobs. If you can’t be patient, you should hire someone.

The problem is you actually have Multisite installed on the DB, but not the front end. So you have two options

    1) Uninstall and start over — Drop these global tables in the database:
    wp_blogs
    wp_blog_versions
    wp_registration_log
    wp_signups
    wp_site
    wp_sitemeta

    2) Restore the wp-config.php file from before you removed the Multisite stuff.

OK thanks, I haven’t bumped and really appreciate all your help!

If I restore the wp-config.php file will that let me start over or not?

Your post was a bump. I deleted it. Don’t try and convince a moderator we didn’t see a bump ?? We know. Here’s what you said:

    Anybody have any ideas?

If you restore the wp-config to when you have WP Multisite up, it will skip over the ‘You have an existing network’ issue.

    Thread Starter AlbinoMonkey

    (@albinomonkey)

    Ok sorry about that.

So when you say it will skip over the issue can I start over again from there?

It’s not a ‘start over’, it’s a ‘get back to having Multisite up’

Start OVER is delete it all and start over.

A half start over would be delete the tables I indicated.

Like I said, two OPTIONS. It’s either 1 OR 2.

    Sorry I don’t follow.

I have never had Multisite up so am a bit confused. After I set it up I never had the options for ‘Sites’ or the ‘Super admin’.

Sorry if I am being retarded here but I am slightly confused!

Yes, you did. It just didn’t work.

I have just installed multisite onto https://jobs4thais.com and everything went smoothly but nothing has shown up in the dashboard, there is no super admin panel or anything and nothing to select sites or add new sites. Does anyone have any ideas?

See? You said yourself you set up Multisite, but it didn’t work. That actually set up the database.

    Go look at your database.

Do you, or do you not, have the tables I mentioned?

    Thread Starter AlbinoMonkey

    (@albinomonkey)

    Hi,

I have dropped the tables that you mentioned. What do i do next?

Thanks very much for all your help it’s much appreciated!

If you dropped those tables, then restore your wp-config.php file from just before you attempted this 2 days ago.

Then try again from the beginning.

For future generations who will repeat this while asking “What Would The AlbinoMonkey do??”…

Could you mark this one resolved?
