Just got logged out

  • Hi –

    I was just working merrily along, editing a plain ole page in WP. All of the sudden, a popup appeared telling me I’d been logged out, and asked me to log back in. Freaky thing is that the box asked me for my EMAIL address, not my USERNAME. when I went to /wp-admin to log back in, I got a redirect to /wp-login,

    What the heck? I use Firefox with latest updates, but tried IE, and same thing happened there, too. I finally did just use the /wp-login, and got back in, but am concerned and puzzled about this. Ideas?

    I immediately ran a backup. I also asked my ISP and they are clueless. I am in WP 3.9. I’ve instelled some new plugins lately, but all was working quite well until that happened. Ideas?

  • A redirect from /wp-admin/ to /wp-login.php is normal.

    For the email prompt vs username, my only guesses are

    1) security plugin of some sort?
    2) something implemented by your web host?
