Some plugins actually make things harder and more complicated, like inserting a 301 redirect into the .htaccess file, so I just did that manually, one line of code on line 1 at the top, done.

The duplicator on the other hand makes a somewhat complicated process so much ‘easier’ and quicker. Yes, it is advisable that you have some experience, unless your site is just a hobby and not paying your bills.
