I’ve seen that people have gotten the “Already Installed” message when they go to https://www.theirURL.com/wp-admin/install.php. I did too, and couldn’t find a good answer on this forum. So I deleted the DB I created for it, made a new one, changed the wp-config.php file to have the info DB info, then returned to the above URL to complete installation. It worked, and it was able to generate an admin login. This is for people who do have PHP turned on, who did not get the garbled PHP parsed as text on their screens.

Anyway, just something to throw in as a suggestion.

  • thats not a fix. thats a hammer.

getting that message is a result of a crashed options table, and the solution (repairing the crashed table) is well documented.
