• Hey Annasta

I hope to find you well. You helped me out big on a previous project under Twenty Twenty Three theme. I have 3 new sites in operation now on TT4. I have apllied some of the Woo Filter blocks, since it is an FSE site, whicj I want it to be. These filters do a lot of refresh for every selection, and that’s just not a smooth solution.

I remember your filters to be really really cool and smooth experience wise, but also a big block of filtering content with no option to redecorate things other than top or sidebar. Question is have you moved further to make this look cool and seamless on a site: Can I place filters as mega menu and will it work then? / Can I insert filters as block in Gutenberg? / Can I create filter groups in seperate blocks same page (Fx. Style Filters / Size Filters / Durability filters ) What I mean is the ability to place them where relevant.

Have you looked into geolocation (Geo my WP) so that based on viewers location has priority. The nearer the higher display fx or fx filter based on shipping location.

Is your SEO based on specific plugins? Orit just relates to the title and meta, so it works with all. I am using The SEO Framework…

Finally I am using php 8.3. Did you test for 8.3 or can you think of anything not working?

Thx – Looking forward to hear more

Welcome back to our support forum, Hebhansen!

Thank you for your questions, your post reminds me of that perhaps it would be a good idea to schedule a re-check of the WP blocks implementation development. I remember a few years back we were rather excited at the potential of the idea, but unfortunately, on closer examination, there were some limitations that didn’t allow us to move further down the road of blocks integration. However, the annasta WooCommerce Filters Guttenberg block was added in version 1.5.5 of our plugin, so you are welcome to use it in your block editors!

Speaking of styling customizations, beyond the “Style settings” admin tab present on any annasta Filters installation, we’ve always kept the design-related features in the dedicated section of the WP Customizer (Appearance > Customize), have you ever checked on it?

As for the mega menu option, it’s true that we’ve never offered that, mainly because we feel that there are enough themes and specialized plugins offering some very well thought-through solutions. It would clutter our code if we tried to offer a rich set of menu-related options while nothing prevents our users from using filtered links in any 3d party menu.

The display pages selection and other display control options have always been available in any version of our plugin, whereas the multiple filter groups (presets) are offered by the premium version. You can put multiple annasta blocks in the same widget area, and they will display on relevant pages based on the Display on settings of each preset. We don’t currently offer AJAX refresh of our filter presets (only the URL-based page refresh will load the correct set), but there exist ways to conceal the irrelevant filters that return zero products in all their options.

There is no geolocation support offered on any of our filters. We’ve had past questions from users trying to combine the work of 3d party geolocation software with filtering, but unfortunately there was no definite feedback as to whether they have ever succeeded.

As for the SEO, our plugin offers some basic SEO support, mostly aimed at the users that don’t use any other specialized SEO software. You are welcome to look through the SEO settings section of our knowledgebase if you wish to see if our list of SEO options contains the functionality that you are interested in. If you feel that something is amiss, you are welcome to let us know, and we will consider your feature proposal in the future development of the plugin.

We haven’t yet officially tested the 8.3 version of PHP. However, we have multiple users running their sites on 8.3 and have had no complaints from them so far. Please do let us know if you ever run into issues while test-driving the filters!
