    Forgive me if this is has been covered before. I looked through the forum and didn’t see this discussed.

    I am getting junk submissions to my form. The fields are filled with random letters and numbers and, occasionally non-existent web addresses. When I try to re-create it myself the fields do not validate. And yet, I keep getting them.

    I have added the IP addresses to the blocked list, but it bothers me that some people are able to submit this junk, which I believe is potentially a hacking attempt.

    Could you please tell me how they are able to submit these forms in the first place and how to stop them.

    Thank you.

    @commpc,

    There is no option of getting 100% junk-free submissions. The best option here is getting IP blocking and using Captcha/ReCaptcha protection. But in any case if you are worried about hacking option, please note that we are blocking any queries submitted with the form, so no worries on hacking possibilities using the form. Thank you.

    Thanks for the rapid response. I do feel better knowing all queries are blocked. I’ve been blocking IPs as the problem occurs, and I have had a captcha box on the form since day one.

    But it baffles me how someone can enter their email address as “HIPLKIHNB4EIU” and it still gets submitted. I’m not able to do that and they are. I wish someone could tell me why.

    Dear commpc,

    Most likely the submitter is disabling Javascript while filling out the form. Thank you.
