• Ive tried researching this for days and at my wits end here. Im trying to create a single page site. Im using the wp menu system and using custom links to scroll down to the appropriate spot using id’s. Easy enough but how do you do this when you leave that page and go to say the blog? You cant go back because the menu system is now useless.

  • Enter the full URL of that page with the anchor
    eg. https://mysite.com/mypage#goto

That works fine to go say from the blog back to the main page but still renders the wp menu system useless.

Sorry, let me elaborate a bit more. It works but every link that uses that sort of link is now shown in a an active state all the time. (ie -all links in the menu are highlighted as if I’m viewing every section at the same time)

@adpawl, thanks for the suggestion it helped a lot and got me going going the right direction! ??

    Hi jimmyk69,

I’m just wondering if you found a way to make the menu behave like a one page site yet? I’ve been having the same problem myself. I’m using a great theme and have figured out the scrolling and the links to different pages but how to stop all the same-page anchor links from being highlighted in the nav?

I’m hoping there’s some css styling that I can add just to the menu items….but I don’t know anything about any of this stuff!
