Me again! Have been working on my first website in Local (Flywheel). Because it is a website selling downloads after some initial research went with Easy Digital Downloads. I had created a handful of test product categories and products but finding EDD (free version) limiting/inflexible and also finding answers/support not brilliant. In short, have been experimenting with WooCommerce on a “test” site I also created in Local and have decided that I want to go with WooCommerce instead.

My skills are still very basic and work is time consuming so I don’t want to lose some of the things I have already created on the original site using EDD. For example, the Homepage/About page/Header/Footer and so forth. I am imagining that if I uninstall EDD I will simply lose those items associated with EDD – i.e., Product Categories/Products/Checkout Page etc. Please can someone confirm if this is the case?

Is it as straightforward as uninstalling EDD and installing/Activating WooCommerce?

    Many thanks in anticipation.

If I decide to go with WooCommerce think I will also be purchasing “Product Bundles” extension. Have spent this morning researching this but any steer (please see may previous post) would also be MUCH appreciated.

    Hi @macg64 ,

Honestly, we are not professionals of EDD and not very familiar with that, but the chances are you might lose everything. To be sure, you might need to create backup just in case before testing it further by uninstalling the EDD.

    Best regards.

Thank you Janilyn. I had indeed backed everything up and have made the transition – no problem.

    Regards,
