JS question

fantastic plugin

i notice you use JS to track if the accept button has been agreed to , would it not be better to use cookies ? this way the plugin could also show the site might not work if they came to site with cookies off ??

I am trying to reduce the amount of JS on my site as every plugin loads a script ??
