This site is a duplicate of https://www.greenpearls.com – in the original, AO nicely combines all css and js, in the duplicate, which is run on a different server at a different provider, AO just minifys, but doesn’t combine the js anymore. The contents, settings and plugins of those sites are identical, just the URLs differ, obviously.
What’s even more strange: While I’m logged in, it’s combining nicely, but once logged out, it doesn’t.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    are you kidding me?

    p477427.webspaceconfig.de

THIS is the url of the clone. THIS is loading 100 separate files.

Clone site appears slow and seems not using AO plugin https://i.imgur.com/5sF7IPQ.png

still a page cache issue, adding a cache-busting querystring does show the JS optimized:

might be a CE bug, they’ve been pushing a lot of updates lately. are you using hte same CE version on your 2 sites?

    1. At this URL p477427.webspaceconfig.de there is certainly page caching issue. Adding ?bypass query string in the URL shows difference source code than without it

    2. In the screenshot (https://p477427.webspaceconfig.de/screencapture-greenpearls-wp-admin-options-general-php-2020-08-26-21_35_04.png) I noticed you have “fusion” word in exclude list. So likely a version without query string is reflecting correctly that way!

I do not know why it’s autoptimize_single form JS without aggregating when “Aggregate JS? is checked.

Deactivate Cache plugin, then check again!
Also remove its rewrite rules from .htaccess (carefully only cache enabler plugin related) if any leftover after plugin deactivation.

please stop posting screenshots of stuff not related to the problem… yes, it optimizes the js. no-one ever said it doesn’t. but whatever “cache-busting querystring” you add, it loads 100 separate minified files, just as in my last screenshot. which in the original sites is combined to one.
yes, it’s the same most recent version of every single plugin, it’s a CLONE.

no need to get upset my friend, we’re just trying to help and while helping we might make mistakes ??

going to bed now (22h12 here), but if you can leave things as they are now, I’ll be happy to have a better look tomorrow. less chance of making mistakes after a good nights sleep after all ??

    greetings from belgium!

Are both site hosted on same server configuration? No. This is what I see. Therefore, I do not agree with clone term. Maybe try hosting at same place and then check. Thanks for understanding.

Sorry for getting upset. After Gulshan two times posted screens of the wrong site and them even repeated what we had three hours earlier in same thread, I feel like groundhog day. And the final reply isn’t helpful at all. A hint what differences in server configuration could cause AO to create such a mess might be helpful. The provider says they never had problems with AO before either.
I deactivated AO, as the customer wants to test tomorrow.

No worries rocky_beach, pretty sure you were tired too ??

A pity you had to deactivate AO, but I have found some interesting information nontetheless; look at https://www.webpagetest.org/result/200827_HZ_fdd088cd48e564442f14eae7b66a220d/#run1 (test of the new site) vs https://www.webpagetest.org/result/200827_1W_d03cde05740d2ea3ccb5b944096eec75/ (test of the old site) and compare the right hand circle graph between both. if you look closely you’ll see the old site has 570.356KB of JS but the new one has 1.265.094KB!

upon closer inspection I can see the new site has an important amount of fusion-builder JS included, which the old site does not seem to have. I am pretty sure those are the extra requests you were seeing. The reason they were not aggregated is that you had “fusion” in the exclusion list.

So the question now is; why does the cloned site spit out so much fusion-builder JS?

    Thread Starter rocky_beach

    (@rocky_beach)

Hi there, I have no idea why it’s loading those files, fusion-builder is supposed to load only those necessary… but I managed to manually exclude the unnecessary files.
Now the result (loaded files) looks similiar on both sites, unfortunately AO is much slower on the clone, much slower then the FV plugin. I can speed it up a lot by making it move scripts to header, but unfortunately this breaks several scripts, even if they are on the exclude list. I guess this only stops them from being aggregated, but not from being moved in position? Thanks for your help!

    (@optimizingmatters)

how is AO is slower on the clone vs the live site? can you make a webpagetest.org test and paste the URL here so I can review?

(force in head is almost always a bad idea)
