Brand new install WordPress on Dreamhost. This is about the hundredth of these I’ve install this year with no problem, but THIS time I have a javascript error thrown on a brand new install, and NO formatting buttons are showing up, though I can type in the field.

    The errors thrown:

    This is consistently thrown

    Line: 46
    Char: 2
    Error: ‘realTinyMCE is undefined’
    Code: 0
    URL: …wp-admin/post-new.php

    Got this once, too.

    Line 100
    Char 2
    Error: Obect not defined
    Code: 0
    URL: …wp-admin/post-new.php

  • Though this is not a direct answer, it will hopefully be helpful. When I get errors, I plug the exact error phrase into forum search to see if the issue has been discussed/resolved. If you plug ‘realTinyMCE is undefined’ in, you will see some results that may be helpful to you – like the first thread.

Discovered the issue and solution. beautiful-sunrise-10 theme which I just downloaded from the official theme site fails with WordPress 2.3 Going back to Default theme shows everything working normally. Darn, and here I thought I was not going to have to skin this myself. *sigh*
