    Hello,

at first thank you for this great Plugin. The results are great!

I use the Genesis Framwork from Studiopress and the PlugIn “Google Analyticator” with the option: Tracking Code: “Universal (analytics.js)”. I installed Reduce Bownsrate and chose also the recommended option “analytics.js”.

Today i found out, that the Website spits out an JS Error on everey Site: “TypeError: $ is not a function” and the sourcefile:

    …/wp-content/plugins/reduce-bounce-rate/js/analyticsjs.js?ver=4.5.3

It would be great, if you have an idea, what goes wrong. I have another site with the same behaviour. The example Website per private message.

    Thank you again.

    Best Wishes Jack

    Hi Jack,

I don’t have time at the moment and this is the best I can do for you now. Look at this page for the answer: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/12343714/typeerror-is-not-a-function-when-calling-jquery-function

I also just saw that AdblockPlus blocks the plugin. I don’t know for how long but one day I have to look at it. Maybe that’s the reason why numbers in my stats have dropped the past couple of months…

It’s not AdblockPlus, but EasyPrivacy that blocked it.

A visitor noticed this error on my site as well. I can see it in Safari, without EasyPrivacy or an any adblocker for that matter:

I hope you have time to fix it.

    Hi Patrick,

I have just sent you an email with a file to try out. Please let me know if that solved the issue.

Seems to work, the error is gone and I still see events coming in.

I have updated the plugin and the error should be gone now. Thanks, Patrick, for the help and feedback.

    Hello Okoth1,

can you send me the file too?

I installed today the last official release Version 4.1.0. Unfortunately the error is still present on my sites. I cleared Caches (Plugins and Browser, too)

    Any idea?

    Thanks for the hard work!
