Since updating to 3.0.1 there seems to be an issue on the frontend with the JS function:

whatsapp-popup.js?ver=5.6.2:3 Uncaught TypeError: $(...).njtWhatsApp is not a function

This is preventing the popup widget from loading, but whatsapp-popup.js had loaded on the file and contains a function for njtWhatsApp

I’ve tried re-saving a number of settings, but no avail, nor does deactivating and reactivating the plugin help.

    Any advice?

I can resolve the issue by making my theme dependent on the plugin JS nta-js-popup – however this seems the wrong way to do things and maybe better for nta-js-popup to be dependent on nta-js-global

Follow up to the above, both the app and my theme use a file called app.js and this I think may also be a cause of the conflict.

    Hi @cmspencer99 ,

Thanks for using WP Chat App and I am sorry to know about this issue!
Could you please change your theme to another theme/default theme and see if the issue persist?

    Kind regards,

Hi apologies for the delay, yes it resolves when changing theme. We are re-working the theme anyway to use the Beaver Builder theme. For now we rolled back to 2.6 which works with our old theme.

    Thank you for your response.

    Hi @cmspencer99 ,

Good to know you figured some things out now, so please fix the theme and when its stable you could use latest version of WP Chat App again.

    Many thanks,
    -Bruce-

The third party custom theme was the issue, resolved.
