Yesterday I’ve upgraded our intranet site to UM 2.8.0 – today our users cannot change or upload new profile pictures to their UM profile. I’ve debugged this thing and have found that there is a JS error displayed in the development console of Google Chrome:

jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.4.1:2 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 3.4.1
cropper.min.js?ver=1.6.1:10 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'scaleX')
    at n.getData (cropper.min.js?ver=1.6.1:10:25897)
    at HTMLAnchorElement. (um-modal.min.js?ver=2.8.0:1:1641)
    at HTMLDocument.dispatch (jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2:40035)
    at v.handle (jquery.min.js?ver=3.7.1:2:38006)

I don’t know how to solve this – WP 6.4.2 with Twenty Twenty Three Theme installed.

This message appears in the browser console as soon as I click on “apply” to save my new profile image.

I have made an UM bug report about this issue.

    Hi @hartundweich

Do you have the cover photo on your user profile pages?
I cannot replicate the same issue on my end https://jam.dev/c/0f7a73ff-d16f-4650-ae8c-5b5f26704f1e

No – the photo does not get uploaded.. Five minutes a colleague told me, he was able to upload a photo but had to start the process serveral times and suddenly it worked.

Another colleague told me, he was able to upload the photo via drag and drop without any problem.

Maybe I’ll try to disable WP Performance plugin… and do some furhter investigation if our SSO environment with Active Directory is causing troubles.

I’ll come back with information about this as soon as I had time to try…

OK — now it’s clear. I identified W3 TotalCache as the plugin which causes this problem. When disabling this plugin everything works fine…

I’ll have a look how I can solve this problem for my site without loosing this performance plugin.

    Hi @hartundweich

Thanks, I hope after flushing the caches on your website you get the proper functionality without errors.

Let me know if this topic can be resolved,
    Best Regards!

    Hi @nsinelnikov,

I didn’t manage to get W3 Total Cache to work with Ultimate Member Plugin – I removed the extension W3 Total Cache. Now everything is running fine… I’ll try another extension for caching and performance optimization.
