    So, I’ve really messed up.

I kept seeing the error message $ is not a function. So i went into the file to change the $ to jQuery. Once I did it, it took the site down. Nothing displays and I cant even get into WP-Login. My web hosts wont restore it to its previous version, despite the fact that they said they could, should anything go wrong.

Somebody please tell me that there is a magic fix? Although i highly doubt it.

  • What file did you change? You can generally get back into your site by deactivating plugins and/or changing the name on your theme’s folder using FTP:

    wp-content
         plugins.HOLD
         themes
yourtheme CHANGE THE NAME ON THE FOLDER OF THE ACTIVE THEME

    Thanks!

I’ve gone into FTP and replaced the file that I changed-turned out after trouble shooting to be an added comma! Small things eh?
