jQuery(…).qtip is not a function

  • Hey there,

    The donations page I’m building (northridge.org.au/give) is not working properly, it seems that most of the Javascript features aren’t working.

    My Javascript console is giving me this error:

    Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(…).qtip is not a function (give.all.min.js?ver=1.8.8:8)

    I’ve tried:

    • Updating WordPress and the Give plugin
    • Moving scripts to the footer as per this thread

    From my Googling it seems I could bandaid this issue by adding qTip separately but I’d rather fix the root issue ??

    Hi Chris,

    Please try going to “Donations > Settings > Advanced” and set the “Script Loading” setting to “Footer”. Make sure to clear any caching you might have after you make that change.

    If that doesn’t clear it up, please do the following:

    1) Please deactivate all plugins besides Give. If it works as expected then re-activate each plugin one at a time until you see the problem again. Then let us know which plugin caused the error and we’ll dig into it.

    2) Provide your System Info here. Go to “Donations > Tools > System Info”. You can provide it as a dropbox link if you prefer to delete later.

    Hey Matt,

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    Turns out it was a conflict with my theme. The theme included jQuery directly in the footer. I’ve deleted this and enqueued it properly – Give is now working as expected.
