JQuery Migrate Helper generates server overload and produces 500 errors

Hiya,

Would you be able to provide us with the error logs from your server for when this is happening, as they would tell us what is causing the 500 error?

So looking at that, there’s a plugin (woocommerce-deposits) causing a fatal error when trying to use a function that does not exist, so you’d need to reach out to them on what is causing these errors.

There’s unfortunately no errors created by the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin in those logs.

I can confirm this issue happens on one of our websites also. Regular 500 errors since enabling jQ migrate helper. As soon as it’s disabled theres no errors.

Strangely there’s no errors logged in either WP error log, or the Siteground error log.

The errors only appear to happen when “Detect and log deprecations in the default WordPress version of jQuery” and “Log deprecations caused by anonymous users browsing your website” options are enabled.

Can you advise if there’s anything we can do to run the helper with all options enabled and avoid the 500 errors?

This is another users topic, from almost 4 months ago. If you need assistance, I would suggest you create your own topic and someone will surely be able to help you look at your issue, but on general grounds, public logging of deprecations is a resource intensive task in the first place, and not recommended unless you are actively monitoring your site while doing so.
