I use Complianz on several sites, all of them use the latest WordPress version, all plugins are up to date, as well as the theme of Avada. Since yesterday one of the pages shows the following:

jQuery was not detected on the front-end of your site. Compliancy requires jQuery. For more information on this topic, please read this article.
Javascript errors are detected on the front-end of your site. This may break the cookie banner functionality.
    Last error in the console:
    ReferenceError:_jQuery_is_not_defined on line 1 of https://www_pixelhafen-design_de/wp-content/plugins/fusion-core/js/min/avada-faqs_js
For more information on this topic, please read this article.

The cookie banner is displayed correctly, can be used and there are no errors in the console. Complianz has been completely uninstalled (data deleted during uninstallation), cache has been cleaned, plugins have been deactivated etc. but this does not change the error message, even if e.g. Twentytwenty is installed, the error is displayed. But this happens only expliziet on this one side of 10 pieces.

The two code snippets, which are displayed by the error code as a solution, do not change anything about the situation.

Does anyone have a solution for the error?

    Hi @pixelhafendesign,

This means Complianz can’t find jQuery in the obvious locations, so throws a warning. If your banner works, jQuery should be available, and the warning is not correct.

I am curious if there’s something different about your set-up, in relation to the others.

Let me know, you can ignore the warning for now.

    regards Aert

    Hi @aahulsebos

The funny thing is that all setups work identically and are set up the same way. Avada also needs JQuery itself.

I uninstalled Complianz again and deleted the data, changed the theme, installed and set up Complianz again, then activated Avada and the error was gone. Shortly after I adjusted the cookie banner again the error appeared again, but the banner works fine.

Thanks in any case for the quick feedback
    Best regards

    Hi @aahulsebos

I wanted to give you a new feedback about the bug. Nothing has changed in the setup, no updates for plugins or avadas were installed, the cache is the same etc. So everything is the same.

Now the error has disappeared and doesn’t reappear again.

Very strange what is going on.

    Hi @pixelhafendesign,

It might be Complianz found the jQuery, and removed the error. We are minimizing false positives for the upcoming update, so this should not happen again with the next update.

    regards Aert
