• Greetings,

I am trying to install a Lightbox plugin for my theme and I keep on receiving the following JQuery error:

    Webpage error details

I’ve tested in Chrome and it works perfectly fine. But when using IE8, Lightbox / Colorbox does not load.

I’ve tested with about 5 other JQuery or Colorbox plug-ins as well.

In addition, I have tried deactivating all of my plugins individually to test if that was the issue.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

  • I am also receiving this same error in IE 8 + 7. (Works, Chrome, FF, IE9.) I’m using the plugin with the inline implementation. My WordPress build is all up to date and Jquery version is 1.8.3. I don’t have any other versions of jQuery running, tried switching up the styles, and tried linking to googleapis.com to run the jQuery from (v1.8.3 and v1.9.0).

The lightbox also throws the same error when clicking on the “Demo/Test” area in the backend settings. (Message: Invalid argument. Line: 6 Char: 5001)

    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Same problem here. Anyone has found a solution?

I just ran into this issue, and fixed it by making sure the Initial Width and Initial Height weren’t blank. You can set these values under Primary Lightbox Settings > Size tab. I set both values to 10%, and the problem went away.

studio625 knows what’s doing! You helped me out big time dude! Thanks. I’m using Lightbox Plus Colorbox and that’s exactly what it was! Adjust those heights and you will be fine!

    Amazing !!! congratulations.
Your solution are right : when adjust the tab size values, everything works with the old IE8 ??

I confirm this fix setting the values :
    width : 50%
    initial width : 10%
    initial height : 10%
    resize : checked

    Thanks
