• With the update to WordPress 5.6, the included version of jQuery is also upgraded. This means that old code may now cause errors.

One of those errors is that the menu on mobile devices will no longer work.
Works fine on desktop but not on phones.

At this stage to overcome this, I have installed the plugin ‘Enable jQuery Migrate Helper’ which allows me to downgrade to a previous version of jQuery so that the menu works.
Obviously this is only a temporary fix.

Will Spasalon be upgraded to fix this problem with jQuery?

Does the latest update (2.1.3) fix the jQuery problem?

Yes Update the theme, we have fixed the issue in the 2.1.3 version.

Unfortunately this did not work. I have updated Spasalon to Version: 2.1.3

I find I still need to use the plugin ‘Enable jQuery Migrate Helper’ set to jQuery version Legacy 1.12.4-wp for the menu on mobile phones to work. Even having this plugin set to wordpress default does not make the menu work.

Everything else is working as before except for the menu on mobiles.

It is working fine at our end. Maybe any of the activated plugins is conflicted. Deactivate your plugins one by one and check.
And if possible share your site URL.

Everything was working fine until I upgraded WordPress and I haven’t added any extra plug-ins. But I will try your suggestion

@rishi911 I came across your reply while investigating something else.

I have flagged your account and have archived your admin asks. All of them.

While I know you have the best of intentions, it’s forum policy that you not ask users for admin or server access. Users on the forums aren’t your customers, they’re your open source collaborators, and requesting that kind of access can put you and them at high risk.

If they are paying customers (such as people who bought a premium service/product from you) then by all means, direct them to your official customer support system. But in all other cases, you need to help them here on the forums.

Thankfully are other ways to get information you need:

    You get the idea.

We know volunteer support is not easy, and this guideline can feel needlessly restrictive. It’s actually there to protect you as much as end users. Should their site be hacked or have any issues after you accessed it, you could be held legally liable for damages. In addition, it’s difficult for end users to know the difference between helpful developers and people with malicious intentions. Because of that, we rely on plugin developers and long-standing volunteers (like you) to help us and uphold this particular guideline.

When you help users here and in public, you also help the next person with the same problem. They’ll be able to read the debugging and solution and educate themselves. That’s how we get the next generation of developers.
